FAQ
Which massage treatment should I choose?
While we tailor each session to your specific needs regardless of the menu item you've chosen, here are some general guidelines: Trigger Point Therapy: Choose this if you've got a specific muscular issue that needs attention, whether it's chronic or acute. Deep Tissue: Choose this if you're in need of a serious head-to-toe tune up. Swedish Relaxation: Choose this if you're just looking to unwind, bliss out, and simply let it all go for a bit.
What are Trigger Points?
All the muscles in the human body are comprised of fibrous strands, that expand and contract in order to create movement. Also running contiguously throughout the body is another fibrous material called facia, which grows a bit everyday, and acts as a kind of buffer between muscle groups, and also as a binding agent. When a muscle experiences trauma (like an acute tear or strain), or remains in a protracted state of contraction (due to ones nervous system misfiring), facial material may grow excessively, and bind the damaged muscle, causing localized pain, that may also refer (or radiate) to surrounding muscular regions. We call this a Trigger Point.
What is Trigger Point Therapy?
Trigger Points require a specialized approach to deal with effectively. In order to breakup or melt the facial binding as well as cue the nervous system to begin resending appropriate signals (i.e. telling a group of muscle fibers to uncontract), one must apply sustained pressure to the affected area, sometimes for several minutes at a time. More than this however, the job of a specialist is to trace overt pain patterns in order to identify the true epicenter(s) of muscular dysfunction. This can happen in as little as one session, or in severe cases, over the course of many session.

If you’re looking for a skilled therapist who will truly make a difference in your well-being, look no further. Josh is simply the best!
Joshua is an exceptionally talented massage therapist.
I have been going to him on a regular basis for over a year and he he has played a major part in helping to keep my body functional through the rigors of work, pregnancy and now even postpartum there is no one I trust more. He is attentive when I communicate a certain area is bothering me more than usual and I appreciate that I can be brief in this communication because I can fully trust his skills as he is especially adept at intuitively finding and working through troublesome areas. The night after I get a massage form Joshua, I find that my body sleeps deeper and longer due to the release. Bonus points that Joshua is genuinely a caring and down-to-earth individual. He is also a great conversationalist but also open to letting you rest/relax based on your preference/mood for the session. I highly recommend him for any of your therapeutic needs!
Best massage I ever got and will definitely be coming back. Went for Josh who definitely knew what he was doing and focused on my problem areas. I never got a deep tissue massage, and he helped me realize what I've been missing out on. 10 stars!
